Biography

Basil Brown born 1762 is shown as the son of Basil Brown born 1732 and of Elizabeth Brashear born 1736. Basil Sr. and his siblings are shown at World Connect. Basil's brother, Thomas Jr. was the founder of Brownsville, PA.

Ellis' History of Fayette Co. tells that in 1770, Basil Brown, Sr. settled on land adjoining a tract owned by William Colvin the 443 acres were granted to him by VA Certificate.
