Ann was born in Little Driffield, York England. Parents being James Brown and Eliza Pickering.

1839 Ann was Christened on the 8 August 1839, in Great Driffield, York England.

1847 Ann's mother died.

1850 Ann's father marries his 2nd wife, her name was Eliz Ridley

1851 West Gate Promise Square, Great Driffield, Ann is about 11 years, her father James is 37, birthplace Langtoft, Yorkshire, Stepmother Elizabeth Brown age recorded as 51, birthplace Whitby, Yorkshire. Siblings Harriot age 7 birthplace Driffield, Yorkshire and half sister Margaret age recorded as 0 years, birthplace Driffield, Yorkshire.

1852 The Brown family immigrates to South Australia, Australia on the Ship Shackamaxon which sailed from Liverpool 4 October 1852 arrived Port Adelaide, South Australia 19 January 1853.

1853 January landing in Australia, Ann's Stepmother died and was buried at Port Adelaide, Australia.

1860 in Kapunda, South Australia , Ann marries Charles William Benjamin Bowen.
