Valentine Wightman married second, between 1778 and 1787, Abigail Brown, widow of ----- Utley, born about 1735; died in Bozrah 15 April 1817, aged eighty-two (Bozrah Ch. Bk., iii, 19).
Valentine Wightman's widow, Abigail, in her will dated 19 March 1817, recorded 24 May 1817, devised to the four surviving sons, Israel, David, Elijah, and Joseph; to the heirs of William, Daniel, and Amos, deceased; and provides (in part) for gravestones for Deacon Valentine and herself by the bequest of a brass kettle to Elijah (Norwich Prob., xii, 442).
Both Deacon Valentine and his wife, Abigail, were members of the "Church of Christ in Bozrah," formerly "New Concord Society" (Congretational) of Norwich. Their graves are in a small hillside cemetery in Bozrah, known as the Wightman burying-ground.
