Biography

Edward Brown was born about 1697 in Kent, Maryland. He died about 1757 in Kent, Maryland.
Queene Anne's County MD The Brown Family.

Morgan Brown, the first of that name, and son of the first Edward, on the death of his father inherited the land on Lankford's Bay and Chester river; and there he made a settlement. But becoming dissatisfied, having heard of fine lands and promising offers made in Pennsylvania for settlers by Penn, the proprietor; and also having embraced the principles and doctrines of the Friends (or Quakers), he made a journey to that part of the country and was highly pleased with it. He returned home with full determination to remove there as soon as he could arrange his business for that purpose, but before this was completed he took sick and died; and his family chose to remain where they were. He had married Elizabeth Buckingham, by whom he had three children, Morgan, born October, 1693; Sarah, born 1695: and Edward, born 1697. Edward married Mary Chears, and had six children, viz.: Edward, John, Morgan, James, Catherine and Elizabeth. Sarah married John Hamor and had five children, viz.: John, Sarah (married to Thomas Smith). Mary (married to Lazarus Tittle), Elizabeth (married to Robert Nap Clothier, and lastly John 2nd of the same name). These all had children except the first John, who married but died without issue.
