Aquilla Brown is presumed to be the son of James and Rebecca Brown of Wilkes County, N.C. He is found just once in the tax list of that county in 1795 when he is listed next to his mother and his brother Daniel who we know was born in Maryland.[1]
26 Oct 1790 - In a Wilkes County court case, "State vs. Aquila Brown and Isaac Camp", indictment for assault and battery. Defendant found guilty.[2]
27 Jul 1791 - Ordered that Thomas Rash and Aquila Brown be exempt from paying poll tax in 1790.[2]
9 Apr 1812 - Aquilla Brown marries Nancy Carron in Pulaski County, Kentucky. (It isn't certain this record pertains.)[3]
1812 to 1816 - Aquilla Brown is on the tax lists of Adair County, Kentucky, with his brother Elias.[4]
