Isabella Graham Brown was born 04 April 1866 in Calton, Glasgow, the daughter of John Brown and Isabella Patterson (see note and sources below).

Isabella Brown, a 20 year old Steamloom Weaver, married Hugh Cumberford, a 20 year old Van Driver, on 08 June 1887 at Blackfriars Manse in Dennistoun. Witnesses were Thomas McKie and Annie McCready. Hugh and Isabella had four children. In the 1891 census, Hugh, a VanMan, and Isabella, a cotton weaver, are at 324 London Rd in Barony, Glasgow with their son Hugh. In the 1901 census, Hugh and Isabella are at 20 Julden St in Barony with their son John. Their son Hugh, age 13, is a boy under detention at the Industrial School for Boys in Dumbarton. He is there with his cousin Hugh, age 14, the son of James Cumberford and Jean Cameron.

There appears to be a divorce filing in 1914. The indexed record reads Isabella Brown or Cumberford v Hugh Cumberford.

46 year old Isabella Brown, a Power Loom Weaver, married widower William Ross, a 44 year old Carter, on 01 May 1914. They married at 241 London Rd, in Glasgow, the residence of both of them when they married. Witnesses were James Ross and Christina Ross.

William Ross must have died because Isabella, now a 52 year old widow, re-married her first husband Hugh Cumberford, a 50 year old Steel Plate Worker, on 16 Apr 1920 at 245 Golfhill Dr in Glasgow. They were both living at 27 Staffa St in Glasgow when they married. Witnesses were John B Cumberford and Agnes Grindlay.

Isabella Graham Ross, died 06 Aug 1924 at 718 Gallowgate in Camlachie, Glasgow. She was age 56 and died of Tuberculosis of the Lungs which she had for one year. Her husband Hugh was the death informant and present when she died.

Isabella's father is named John Brown and her mother is Isabella PATTERSON. A couple of records show her mother's surname as GRAHAM. I think the confusion is with her maternal grandmother whose name was Isabella Graham. Mother's surname mentioned on document sources below. I also have Isabella Graham Brown's parents marriage in 1864. Her mother's name is Isabella Patterson and her grandmother's name is Isabella Graham.
