He was a farmer and a lumberman. Married Olive Lucas. He lived in Crown Point, N.Y. till age 30. At age of 14 he was a eye witness of the Battle of Lake Champlain in which his father, Elisha Brown took part. He begged permission to accompany his father but was denied.
