Walter was born in 1728. He is the son of Daniel Brown and Mary Breed. He 1st. married Elizabeth Wilbur; they had seven children. Elizabeth died in 1768 at age 38 yrs. She is buried in the Christopher Brown burying-ground with her son Isaac. Her sister Phebe Wilbur married Walter's brother Samuel..
In the Brown Gen. Vol. II book , Walter's second marriage was to a May (Mary) who he had four children, Mary, Wheeler, Shepard and Russell. It is thought Walter married 2nd May (Mary) Frink; and they had four children, Mary, Wheeler, Shepard and Russell. Mary Frink Brown's Find A Grave: Memorial #18422632 states that the inscription on the tombstone says; d. Mar. 16, 1795, wife of Walter, age 61 years old; that put her birth circ. 1734. Her father Samuel Frink married Margaret Wheeler and Margaret's brother's son is Shepard Wheeler, Mary's cousin. The Russell name can be found in the Wheeler Family. The Wheeler Family's connection by first names help this thought.
Thomas's wife Mary died circ 1767 and he 2nd. m. Temperance Smith. Walter's wife Mary died 1795. It is unlikely Thomas(age 20) married someone ten years older and being his aunt. It is more likely Thomas Holmes Jr. (b.1744) married Mary Frink (b.1745) daughter of Isaac Frink. Isaac is Mary Frink(b.1734) brother. Thomas's brother Jeremiah Holmes (b.1745) married Elizabeth Frink(b.1748), Mary's(b.1745) sister. Marrying inside the family was common. Thomas's father married Margaret Frink.
I feel an error was made in the Hist. of Ston. book and the Wheeler Family Book saying Thomas Holmes Jr. m. Mary Frink-200(b.1734).
