'Walter Gaskell Brown and his twin brother Frederic Haskell were born on August 7, 1881,[1]in Carroll, Indiana.[2] They were the son's of William Brown and Matilda Gillam. They were the sixth and seventh sons of eight. He had seven brothers.
Walter and Frederic were both just 10 years old when their Father died in 1892,[3] and then 11 Years Old in Febuary, 1893, when their Mother died. They went to live with Their Uncle Tom and Aunt Agnes Gilam. At age 18, He was living as a Boarder, on South RR Street in Monroe, Carroll Co., Indiana, with the Harry W Hana family. He was going to School at the time.[4] At age 28, in 1910 Walter was working as a Jewelry Smith, living with his Twin brother Fred and wife Lola Brown In Center, Howard Indiana. [5]
He never married. Walter had been in poor health most of his life.[6]
He died on November 10, 1917,[1] in Logansport, Indiana, at the age of 36,[7] and was buried in the Zion Citizen Cemetery in Bringhurst, Indiana.,[1]
