Mary Brown was born 06 Mar 1839 and baptized 17 Apr 1839 in Kinellar. In the 1841 census Mary was living with her parents and siblings William, Alexander and James at Blackchambers in Kinnellar. In the 1851 census Mary and her parents and siblings William, Alexander and James at Cotton, Kintore. In the 1861 census, they are still at Cottown, Kintore. Father William is still a Farmer at age 83, Mother Catherine is 55, Mary is 22 and siblings James and Isabella are living with them. In the 1901 census, Cotton Farm, Kintore, Mary is living with her brother James and his wife Jane Donald and their children. Mary’s sister Isabella Riddell is living next door with her children. Mary probably died 28 Feb 1914 and is buried in the Kirkyard of Kinellar.
