Elizabeth Devine Brown was a daughter of Hugh Leeper Brown and Clarissa (Browning) Brown. Elizabeth came overland with her family by Ox Team, to Linn County, Oregon, arriving in September, 1846. [2]
Elizabeth married John M. Moyer, and was the mother of nine children including the following:
Edward L. Moyer, born 1858/59 (by census) in Oregon
Hugh Breck Moyer, born 1861 (by headstone, or 1862/63 by census) in Oregon, died 1913, married 1) Jessie A. Sawyer and 2) Hazel M (?nee)
Ethel L. Moyer, born March 1864, died November 1, 1867
Daisy D. Moyer, born May 16, 1868, died May 21, 1868
Infant daughter, born June 2, 1873 died June 4, 1873
Infant daughter, born 1874, died December 21, 1874
Elizabeth and John are found on the United States Census of 1870, living in Oregon, with their two sons. [3] Elizabeth and John are found in North Brownsville, Linn county, Oregon in 1880 with their two son. Their son Hugh B. Moyer is now going by H. Breck Moyer. On his headstone, he is simply H.B. Moyer. [4]
Elizabeth died May 30, 1921, in Brownsville, Oregon, a town named for her father. [5]
