I was born in Seattle and grew up in Enumclaw, WA. My maternal grandfather created family books for each of us grandchildren that contained photos of our ancestors and a family tree. I am also in possession of a book on the Margadant/Huygen side of my family (paternal) that has been entered into the Library of Congress. While part of it contains several errors, being based on a son's recollection of his mother's stories, it is still a wealth of information for the family tree information it contains.
I joined Ancestry.com in 2002, and have been really active since I retired in 2016. I was able to find my husband's birth parents (father unknown) based on my DNA research, and had it confirmed by one of his half-sisters, who was willing to take the DNA test. I find genealogy is truly a passion of mine, and try to give back when I can by transcribing documents in various locations.
Since 2016 my husband and I are traveling the United States in our 45' New Horizons fifth wheel, which we pull with a Freightliner truck. It's been fun to visit newly-found relatives and do research wherever we choose, not to mention exploring this vast and beautiful country. We currently spend the winter in Tucson, AZ, where we first met over 40 years ago. We have four grown children and four granddaughters.Have you taken a DNA test? If so, login to add it. If not, see our friends at Ancestry DNA.

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
