Private Granville Brown served in the United States Civil War.
Enlisted: Dec. 10, 1861
Mustered out: May 1863
Side: USA
Regiment(s): Company I, 7th Regiment; Company I, 8th Regiment

His pension index card for his son, Andrew, indicates two different regiments, but I only had enlistment information for the one listed above. I believe he enlisted in Company I, 7th Regiment Calvary as a Mason. His career then picks back up in February 1862 with Company I, 8th Regiment, Infantry, WV. His service is well detailed: February 1862, On duty, Company Cook (8th Reg. Inf); March 11, 1862 through April he was absent on recruiting trip in Wyoming; June & July he was on duty as the Company Cook; Aug 9, 1862 through April 1863 he was absent sick in the hospital at David's Island, New York and Discharged in May 1863.

Granville was born about 1820. Granville Brown married Melinda Green February 21, 1842. Her name is misspelled in the recordation as Delinda Green. In the 1850 Census she is named as "Linnie"

There is a family tree on another site with death date of July 20, 1863 for Granville and the year 1863 as the year of death for Malinda, but no documentation, so I did not add these.
