Funeral services for Mrs. Isa Summers, 84, of 2909 7th Ave, who died suddenly at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital Tuesday, will be held at 1 pm Friday at the Gladesville Church of Christ. Evangelist Clarence DeLoach, Jr. will officiate, and burial will be in the Halleck Cemetery, Monongalia Co.
She was born in Preston Co., April 10, 1887, daughter of the late Brice and Virginia Loar Brown. She had been a resident of the Gladesville community in Preston Co. for 32 years before moving to Parkersburg 22 years ago. She was a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ and was the last surviving member of her family.
She is survived by three sons, Clarence W. of Parkersburg, Albertus D. of Morgantown, and Ellis of Gladesville; two daughters, Mrs. Burrous (Beulah) Brewer of Brown's Chapel, Monongalia Co., and Mrs. Lyle (Lavenia) Bailey of Parkersburg; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albertus Summers, in 1955, and by two sons, two daughters, three brothers, and four sisters.
Friends may call at the Franklin and Son Memorial Chapel until 9 pm today. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:30 am to 1 pm Friday.
