Biography

(Unable to find Birth registration to date). Estimated to have been born approx. 1788 to Parents George Brown, Agricultural Labourer and Jane (Millar) Brown. 1812 was the year of Marriage to Helen Reid registered in the Parish of Coldingham, Berwickshire, Scotland. They had five children. The last four were all born in the Parish of Coldingham but it is believed that first daughter Agnes was born in the Bunkle and Preston area of Berwickshire. In the 1841 Census Alexander is at Primrosehill, Bunkle and Preston. In the 1851 Census his "Birth" is stated as Bunkle, Berwickshire, Scotland and he is living at Springfield, Coldingham, Berwickshire, Scotland. He remained here till his death in 1856 at the age of 68 years. His profession was registered as Farmer.
