Richard Browne Esq. was born at 'The Leigh', Hasfield, Gloucestershire, about 1620 and passed away sometime from 1683 onwards.[1]
Richard's marriage to Mary Master is recorded in the Rodmarton Parish record, Gloucestershire in the year 1651. It reads,
"Mr. Richard Browne & Miss. Mary Masters. August fourteenth [1651]".[2]
He figures in Wills etc up to the 1680s (on record at the National Archives) in close connection with the heirs of his wife's family.[3]
Mistaken Identities
Richard Browne Esquire and Mary (Master) Browne have previously been mistaken for the Quaker couple, Richard Browne of Northamptonshire (born Leicestershire) and his wife, Margery, parents of Pennsylvania pioneering Quaker brothers, James Brown and William Brown.
