Biography

Woodbridge was born to Samuel Brown and Dorothy Woodbridge 28 Sep 1714 in Abington, Massachusetts.[1][2] He lived with his grandfather for "7 years and was under 21 at his passing."

Abstract of the Will of Joseph Woodbridge

He was Town Clerk for the Town of Abington from 1750-1754, again from 1756-1777, and a Selectman for the Town of Abington in 1755.[3]

He passed away in 28 Nov 1783.[11]

Probate

The will of Woodbridge Brown of Abington, Esqr., was dated 11 April 1778 and proved on 26 January 1784 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Anne (executor), and his children, Samuel Brown (executor), John Brown, Joseph Brown, Josiah Brown, decd., Dorothy Bate, and Mary Whitman, and his grandchildren, Josiah Brown, Benjamin Woodbridge Brown, Mary Gooch, Catherine, and Hannah Brown.[12] His widow Anna and Samuel Brown were deceased, so Eleazer Bates was granted the administration of his estate.[13]

His inventory was recorded on 19 October 1789. Eleazer Bates was the administrator of his estate.[14]

In 1790, his estate was represented as insolvent. A list of claims and creditors was recorded.[15]
