Biography

Charles was born about 1836, which can be seen from his death registration.

Charles was baptised on 12 April 1838 in the Parish of Over in the County of Cheshire, England and he was the son of Charles Browne and Mary Harrison. His father was a surgeon and also served as a merchant navy seaman between 1845-1854. [1] [2]


Charles married Jane Ann Forbes in 1861 in New Zealand. [3]

He passed away in 1923 in Auckland, New Zealand at 87 years old. [4]

On his 1923 Probate records it is recorded that Charles lived at West End Road, Herne Bay, Madia Hill, Auckland, New Zealand and that he was a Master Mariner. [5]
