Anna was born in 1922. She was the daughter of Wesley Brubaker and Margaret Gruss. She passed away in 2015. [1]


Anna Lee Shea, 92, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away peacefully, and went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 6, 2015. She was born on August 9, 1922, the daughter of Curtis & Margaret (Gruss) Brubaker in Gladwin County. Before marriage, she worked as a telephone operator in the Detroit area. After moving back to the Gladwin area, she married Mortimer Shea on June 12, 1946. Mort and Anna Lee raised their eight children on the family farm. He predeceased her in 2002. She worked as a caterer and a mission volunteer for many years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Parish and the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Harrison, Michigan. She enjoyed many activities such as: oil painting, ceramics, baking cinnamon rolls, and sewing. Anna Lee handcrafted many quilts, pillows, and bookmarks for friends and family. She enjoyed doing her nails and loved her jewelry. Anna Lee will be remembered as being feisty, generous, had a heart of gold, energetic, and pursued life to the fullest. She will also be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Robert (Debra) Shea of Gladwin; Dennis (Janis) Shea of Gladwin; Richard (Tammy) Shea of Arizona; James (Karen) Shea of Gladwin; daughters: Mary Pat (Matthew) Sheehan of East Tawas; Kathleen Shea of Gladwin; Christine (Christopher) Dunning of Auburn; Annette (Howard) Ritchie of Gladwin; 18 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; sisters: Glenna Hitchcock of Beaverton; Lucille Lyons of Beaverton; numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter: Theresa Jeanne; granddaughter: Michele Lynn Meixner; brothers: Paul Brubaker; R.C. Brubaker; Harold Brubaker; sisters: Dorothy Rellinger; Donna Murphy; Betty Wright. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Martin Hodge & Pastor Mat Shea on Friday, March 13, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2015, from 1-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan with a Vigil service at 7:30 P.M. She will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hometown Hospice or Pardee Cancer Fund, Clare County in her name. www.hall-kotovichfuneralhome.com
