Her parents may be John Bruce and Margaret Prain. When Agnes Low Bruce was born in 1856 in Dundee, Angus, Scotland, her father, John, was 30, and her mother, Margaret, was 31. She married John Charles Brodie on April 17, 1876, in her hometown. They had seven children in 14 years. She died on September 22, 1891, in Alameda, California, at the age of 35.
