Sallie was born in 1872 to William Bruce and Mary Bates. In 1880, the family was living in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia.[1]
Sallie married W. A Gaines on 13 Nov 1902 in Decatur County, Georgia.[2] She was his second wife.
In 1940, she was widowed and head of household. Her brother, Granice Bruce, and her daughter, Mary, and son-n-law, Milton Woodbury, and grandson, William, were living with her in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia.[3]
She passed away in 1962.[4] Her grave marker is inscribed: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all things shall be added unto you." Matt: 6-33.[5]
