He married, Janet Livingston, the second daughter of Alexander, Fifth lord Livingston and Lady Agnes Douglas, daughter of John, second earl of Morton, whose mother was the Princess Johanna, daughter of James I, of Scotland by Lady Jean Beaufort.[3]

On 1st July 1547, Sir Alexander had a charter from Queen Mary, with consent of the Regent Arran.

On 14th May 1548, another charter was issued and he is mentioned in a number of transactions.

In October 1577, Alexander Brus of Airth was licensed to remain at home and absent himself from the army summoned to meet the Regent at Dumfries.

He passed away in 1600.

His will was confirmed on 14th August 1600. He had five sons and two daughters:

  1. William Bruce d. February 1596.[4]

I would think the LNAB should be /BRUCE/ rather than /AIRTH/ ditto for daughter Mary. Any objections?

I agree. He was Alexander Bruce, 3rd Lord of Airth. Or Lord Alexander of Airth Bruce. That must be where the confusion came in.
