Biography
Isaac Bruce is a part of US Black heritage.
Isaac Bruce was the son of Charles Bruce and his wife Mary.[1] He was born in Hardy County, Virginia in the early 1830s[2][3] although he claimed to be only 35 when he married 22 year old Mary Boley on 7 April 1879 at the home of Rev Wm George in Grant County, West Virginia.[1]
By 1880, Isaac and Mary had a daughter, Lura Lee, and were sharing their home with three of Isaac's siblings, Emanuel, Abram, and Annie.[3]
Isaac died of consumption (tuberculosis) on 18 March 1888 in Williamsport, Hardy County, West Virginia, USA.[4] His estate was probated in the same county.[5]
