Maurice Brule was Killed in Action during World War II.

Maurice Joseph Brule was the son of Eldage and Leontine Reopelle Brule, and was born on September 24, 1921 in Minnesota.[1][2][3] He was the eldest of the Brule's five children. [1][2]

Maurice enlisted in the US Naval Reserve and attained the rank of S2c (Seaman 2nd Class) and was attached to the USS Indianapolis. [3]

He was reported as one of the combat dead in the July 30, 1945 sinking of the USS Indianapolis in the Philippine Sea.[3]

His name is included in the Tablets of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in the Philippines.[4] There is also a grave marker for him near his parent's graves in Calvary Cemetery in Crookston, Minnesota.[5]

It appears he died leaving no spouse or children. [3]
