Roy Olin Brumbelow was born 1 Sep 1915 in the Beaver Ruin Rock District, Gwinett County, Georgia. His parents were Albert Lee Brumbelow and Millie Garmon. He grew up in the Gwinett County area. Roy enlisted to serve during WWII on 12 Mar 1940. According to records and family stories, Roy served one term in the military and then re-enlisted when America joined the war. He was discharged on 21 Oct 1945. Roy married Dorothy Lee Christopher on 11 May 1941. After his military service, the couple made their home in Cabbage Town in Atlanta, GA, where they raised five children and worked in the factory adjacent to the community. They also lived in the Woodstock area. After their children were grown, Roy and Dorothy lived in Decatur, GA until Dorothy's death in 1987. Roy died on 3 Nov 1995 in DeKalb County, Georgia.
