Early Life
John Frances Brumley was born to Thomas Brumley and Minnie Joslin[1]on September 9, 1894 and raised till the age of 15 in Berryville , Carroll co. Arkansas. He was the oldest and one of 8 brothers and sisters. The earliest census found was the census of 1900 in Berryville, Carroll co. Arkansas age of 6.[2]
He was born and raised on his father’s farm in which he rented. John also had uncle John Brumley, brother John W Brumley, cousin Noah Brumley and his grandfather Pilot Brumleywho owned land in Carroll Co. Arkansas, located close together. Berryville being close to King’s River made it prime farm land.
Oklahoma
When John was about 15, 1905,he moved with his parents, sisters Elma, Edna and Florence to Harris, Johnston, Oklahoma. According to the census they lived on Bromide Connerville and Pontotoc Rd.[1]
Military
John served in the WW1. He enlisted May 22 1918 until July 22, 1919. He registered in Wapanucka, Johnston, Oklahoma at the age of 22.[3][4]

Marriage
Meeting Henrietta they married and settled in Wapanucka Oklahoma 24 Dec 1920 (Brumley Family Bible)[7][8]and started the family. He worked managed couple of farms owned by Jim Briscoe that was 4 miles northeast of Hollis, Ok. The main crop of the farm was cotton.[9]

Texas
Some time in in the late 1940's. Bob Winn , who John previously worked for, wanted John run his farms one outside of Brownfield and one at Sundown, TX. So the Brumley family packed up their belongings and headed for Texas. (information from Sherry Brumley) Vickie Miranda

He died 28 Jan 1967 Brownfield, Terry, Texas.[8]and is buried at Terry County Memorial Cemetery, Brownfield, Terry, Texas.[11]
