Biography

Sébastien Brun, son of Vincent Brun and Renée Breau, was born about 1655 in Port-Royal, Acadie.[1]
In 1671 he was counted on the census in Port Royal, Acadie, as age 15, living with his parents.[2]
Sébastien married Huguette Bourg, daughter of Antoine Bourg and Antoinette Landry around 1675 in Port-Royal. They had the following children in Port-Royal, Acadie:[1]
  1. Jeanne Brun (c.1676)
  2. Claude Brun (c.1678)
  3. Abraham Brun (c.1680)
  4. Vincent Brun (c.1682)
  5. Jean Baptiste Brun (c.1684)
  6. Antoine Brun (c.1685)
  7. Marie Brun (c.1687)
In 1678 he was counted on the census in Port-Royal with his wife and two children.[3]
In 1686, he was counted in Port Royal, Acadia, as age 32. They have 1 gun, 12 cattle, 12 sheep and 10 pigs . No workable land is listed. His name is listed as Bastien.[4]
By 1693, listed by the census as age 38 years, he was a widower.[5]. He was counted on the 1698 census of Port-Royal as Sebastien BRUN, age 45 years [sic], with 60 fruit trees.[6]
He was counted again in 1700[7] and in 1701[8] and was listed each time as age 45.

Sébastien passed away on 15 August 1728 and was interred the same day at St Jean Baptiste, Annopolis Royal, Acadia. Witnesses were Antoine Brun and Claude Brun, his children.[9][10]
