Biography

Thomas J Brunt was enumerated as son at 19th Enumeration District, Attala County, Mississippi for the June 8, United States Census, 1880. He was noted as born 1870 in Mississippi and single as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are self James Brunt, wife Elviza E Brunt, son Joseph F Brunt and sister-in-law Nancy P Peeler.[1]

T. J. Brunt wed M. D. Cooper November 28, 1894 in Attala County, Mississippi.[2]

Thomas J Brunt was enumerated as head of the household in Beat 5 Center, Attala County, Mississippi for the June 19, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as born December 1869 in Mississippi and had been married five years. He was an owner and a farmer as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head James Brunt, wife Sarah A Brunt, son James E Brunt, daughter Alberta Brunt, daughter Lena C Brunt, son Early P Brunt, son Jessie Brunt, mother-in-law Mary Gaffrey, boarder Jessie Brezzall, boarder John Smith, boarder James H Smith, wife Martha Brunt, son Willie Brunt and son Herman Brunt.[3]

Thomas J Brunt was enumerated as head of the household at 118 State Street, Beat 3, Covington County, Mississippi for the April 19, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1870 in Mississippi and had been married fifteen years. He was a laborer (sawmill) and a renter as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Mag Brunt, son Willie Brunt, son Herman Brunt, daughter Mae Brunt, son James J Brunt and son Frank Brunt.[4]

Tom J Brunt was enumerated as head of the household at 44 Cedar, Longville, Beauregard Parish, Louisiana for the January 22, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born 1870 in Mississippi. He was married, a renter and a carpenter (house) as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Mattie Brunt, son William Brunt, son Herman Brunt, daughter May Brunt, son James D Brunt, son Roy Brunt and son Granvel Brunt.[5]

T J Brunt was listed as the father of J D Brunt who died May 3, 1935 in DeRidder, Beauregard Parish, Louisiana. The mother was listed as Mattie Cooper and the wife Margrite Brunt.[6]

On April 1, 1935, Thomas J Brunt lived in Collins, Beat 3, Covington County, Mississippi.[7]

Also included in the household are wife Mattie Brunt and mother-in-law Martha Cooper.[7]
