John Bruton is an Anzac who served in World War One.

Married Grace E Hayes in 1928 in Wingham[2]
Death[3]
==MILITARY SERVICE WW1==
Service No. 2286
Enlisted on 16 Mar 1916 at 16yr and 2 months old.
Obviously he lied about his age and possibly without his parent's knowledge. Enlistment papers has his age down as 18 yrs and 1 month.
As his older brother enlisted two weeks later, did he decide to or was he sent to look after his younger brother?
John was gassed in 07 Jun 1917 and returned to Aust at the end of the war.
On viewing the 35th Battalions history it appears John was gassed during in the fighting around Messines, during the First Battle of Passchendaele.[4]
