Nathan Bryan was the son of Jesse Bryan and Zipporah Cain Bryan. He was born 16 Jun 1757 in then Halifax, now Martin Co., NC, and died 17 Sep 1835 in then Pike Co., now Spalding Co., GA. He married REBECCA LITTLE 27 Sep 1777 in NC, daughter of JAMES LITTLE?. She was born 15 Sep 1760 in Bertie Co., NC, and died 21 Oct 1837 in Pike Co., now Spalding Co., GA.

Nathan Bryan died at Pine Flats Farm, Pike Co., Georgia on 17 September 1835.

I Nathan Bryant being in good health and in perfect mind and memory but calling to mind the uncertainty of this transitory life I do make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows (viz)
1st I give and bequeath to my son Little Bryant two dollars. 2nd I give and bequeath to my son Jesse Bryant two dollars. 3rdI give and bequeath to my son in law Solomon Watson two dollars. 4th I give and bequeath to my daughter Sally Duncan two dollars. 5th I give and bequeath to my son John Bryant two dollars. 6th I give and bequeath to my son Benjamin Bryant two dollars. 7th I give and bequeath to the heirs of my son James Bryant deceased two dollars. 8th I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Ann King two dollars. 9th I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Rebecca Bryant all the balance of my property after paying all my just debts and complying with this my will during her lifetime and at her death to be equally divided between Little Bryant, Jesse Bryant, my son in law Solomon Watson, Sally Duncan, John Bryant, Benjamin Bryant, the heirs of James Bryant deceased and Mary Ann King. It is also my desire that Willis and Sophia two Negro slaves belonging to me shall be sold together and never to be parted during life. I do hereby appoint my sons Little Bryant and Jesse Bryant as executors to this my last will and testament in witness where of I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal, signed, sealed and acknowledged _?_ this April the 5th 1834.

I Burwell Green do swear that I saw Nathan Bryant sign seal publish and declare this writing to be and contain his last will and testament. That at the time thereof he was of sound disposing mind and memory and that he did it freely without compulsion to the best of your knowledge and that I saw John G. Smiley and Enoch MAthews sign as witness to said will so help you God. Burwell Greenn Sworn to and subscribed in open court this 5th Sept 1834 H.G. Johnson C.C.O.

I, Little Bryant do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will of the within named Nathan Bryant deceased so far as I know or believe and that I will well and truly execute the same by paying first the debts and then the legacies contained in the said will so far as his goods and chattels will thereunto extend and the law charge me and that I will make a true and perfect inventory of all such goods and chattels so help me God.
Note: NOT NAMED IN WILL: Son Mark Bryan. Son Elias, who had taken an earlier settlement and his ex-wife received land too. Also possibly not named in will, acc. to other researchers: another daughter, Cecelia.
Note: Littleton Bryant died the next year before the estate was settled, so this estate took many years to settle. Henderson Duncan, Nathan’s grandson, finally was appointed administrator in 1839 and got it settled.)
He is buried at his old homeplace in what is now Spalding County, Georgia.
