I haven't seen good proof oh his birth date.

See: William Bryan - deed book Transcript #1, p. 81, 10 July 1763 William Bryan of Johnston Co. to Nath Kimbrough of Johnston Co. witness that William Bryan hath put his son John Bryan under the tuition & management of Nath Kimbrough , until his son shall arrive at age 21. Wit: John McIlroy, Jonal Marshall. Signed: Nathl Kimbrough, Wm (X) Bryan, July Ct. 1763. This would imply he was born prior to July 1763 - most likely he would have been older than 7 or 8 which would place his birth in 1755 or 1756. There appears to be a 4 year gap between the births of Hardy and Blake so c1755 would make more sense for when he was born unless someone has a documented source of his birth.
