Biography

NOTE: We know she had a marriage before her marriage to Cyrus M. Pierce and we know her last name when she married Cyrus was Mosher, so we logically assume it was to a "Mosher." We find a marriage of a "Kate O'Brien to a Francis J. Mosher" in Vermont about 1867, and that Francis died soon after, which would set her up in proper chronological order to marry Cyrus. We suspect this to be our Kate, and if so, it seems she was going to some lengths to hide her past, given the name "Bryant." etc. BIRTH:

See marriage record that says she was 24yrs old in 1873 and that she was born in Vermont.

See 1900 US Census record that says she was born in April of 1852.

See death record source that says she died August 14, 1903 at the age of 51yrs, 8-months & 24-days which suggests her dob may have been circa November 21, 1851...doesn't much agree with the line above.

MARRIAGE: A record of the marriage of this Kate Mosher to Cyrus M. Pierce July 6, 1873 in Athol, Worcester, Massachusetts. Of this Kate, this record also says she was 24yrs old at the time and was born in Vermont. It also says this was her 2nd marriage and it infers (by a single parent last name, that her maiden name might be "Bryant."^[1]

CENSUS':

The 1880 US census of Athol, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Kate at the age of 30yrs old and given as born in Vermont, (with both parents born in Vermont), living there in Athol with her 29yr old husband, Cyrus M. Peirce and their 1yr old son, Arthur C.^[2]

The 1900 US Census of Athol, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Kate, given as a 48yr old born in Vermont in April of 1852, living there with her husband of 28yrs, Cyrus M. Pierce and 22yr old son Arthur. Where the form asks where her parents were born, the form is left blank.^[3]

DEATH:

A record of the death of this Kate (Bryant) Pierce who died August 14, 1903 in Chelsea First Hospital. (We don't know where Chelsea First Hospital was though we suspect in or around Athol, Massachusetts). This record also says she died at the age of 51yrs, 8-months and 24-days and that she was born in Vermont, though the names of both her parents are given as "unknown." It also says her spouse was Cyrus M. Pierce.^[4]
