Johnny was a wood-worker at the local Godwin Lumber factory. His role was to ensure that the lumber produced was of high quality for their commercial customers. On the weekends, construction workers from all over would come by his shop at home and would leave their saws for sharpening. He used a ball to roll down the teeth of the saw, and if it fell off he would continue sharpening it until it was perfect. The Bryant family relocated to Wilmington from Bolton, NC after Johnny was promoted from the Waccamaw Lumber Company. Originally from The Northhampton/Emporia, VA area.
