Biography

Florence Elizabeth Bryant was born on 6 June 1875, the first child of William Bryant and Amelia (Feehan) Bryant.[1]

On 25 October 1901, at the age of 26 years, she married William Thomas Scott at the Salvation Army Barracks, Paddington, Brisbane.[1] At the time, her occupation is listed as a domestic, and she lived in Paddington.

William and Florence had seven children:

  1. Amelia Sophia, born 1902
  2. Walter William, born 1904
  3. Erneton Thomas, born 1907
  4. May Ivy, born 1909, died 1910, at the age of 14 months.
  5. Alice Caroline, born 1911
  6. Edwin Alexander, born 1914
  7. Violet Florence, born 1917

In 1913, the family moved to Kilkivan (Queensland, Australia),[2] where William purchased property and took up dairy farming.

Florence died in Gympie on 18 July 1924,[1][3] at the age of 49, and is buried in the Kilkivan Cemetery.[4][5]
