In the presence of Alex Brodie, Newit Lane, Edmond Lane Edgecombe County January Superior court 1763

Last Will & Testament of William Bryant dec was Exhibited on Oath by the Extor & Proved by the Oath of Newitt Lane One of the Evidences thereto And at the same time the Extor Quallified According to Law Ordered that the same be -------and that the Will be Recorded ----Jas Hale---- North Carolina

In the name of God Amen. I William Bryant of Edgcombe County & Province aforesaid, Merch't, being of Good Health and Sound Mind and memory do make this my Last Will Testament in manner following Viz. Imprimis I leave my Body to Buried at the Discretion of my Exc't hearafter named. Item my Desire is that all my Just debts shall be paid as soon as any debts can be got in and all my Goods to be valued and sold at the Discretion of my Exc't hearafter named of about thirty head of Cattle and five head of horses & mares, likewise at the Discretion of my Exc't.

my will is that my wife have the use and occupation of the House and Plantation I now live on together with all out Houses Gardens, or other Appendances thereunto Belonging during her natural life with one feather Bed and Furniture, 1 horse and Sadle, One negro Girl named Africa, and twelve cows and Calves, and my desire is that my loving wife bring up my Children at her Discretion and my Exc't. Item, I give and Bequeath unto

my son Samuel after my Wife's Decease that House and Plantation I now live on with all the appertainan es thereunto belonging. Item, I give & Bequeath unto

my son Benjamin my Planta. at Little river and Stock of Cattle thereon. Item, I give and Bequeath unto

my son William my Plantation on Buflow Creek Johnston County with five cows and calves. Item, I give & Bequeath unto

my Daughter Patty a negro Woman named Doll with one feather Bed and furniture, four Dishes, four Basons, a Dozen Plates, & One Horse and Sadle. Item, I give and Bequeath unto

my Daughter Nannie, One negro boy named Tom, feather Bed and furniture, four Dishes, four Basons, dozen Plates, 1 horse and Sadle.

Item, I give and Bequeath unto John Heile(?) for his faithfull Discharge of Business the sum of Twenty pounds current money, and that all my Hoggs, Horses and Cattle , Sheep, Geese __ be sold the money ____ be put to the use of Bringing up my Children which I desire may be at the Discretion of my Loveing Wife and Executor. Lastly I do hereby nominate, ______, and Appoint my loveing Friend Wm. Lane my Executor of this my Last Will and Testament. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal This 1st May 1762.
