In the will of Nathan Bryant, James' father, dated 5 April 1834 we find the entry "I give and bequeath to the heirs of my son James Bryant deceased two dollars." This would be in line with others who list James' date of death abt. 1830 in Pike County, Georgia. Since James' wife Mary Price Bryant moved to Bryant Station, Milam County, Texas well before her 1864 death to be with her sister Roxanna Price Bryant, the 1888 death date for James seems suspect.
