Benjamin Bryant was born about 1773; likely in Machias, Washington, Maine, but possibly on Campobello Island.[1] He was the son of Samuel Davis Bryant and Elizabeth (Harmon) Bryant. He married Anna Chase on March 22, 1793.[2][3] In 1800,[4] 1810,[5] and in 1820,[6] they lived in Plantation No. Eleven (now Cutler) Washington, Maine. The family was still in Cutler in 1830,[7] but by 1840 lived in Eastport, Washington, Maine.[8] He died there on January 6, 1841.[9]
