Alabama, U.S., Surname Files Expanded, 1702–1981 "Moses Buchanan in Fincastle Co., wed 1st Elizabeth Buchanan(dates and Parents unknown) and they had 3 children- 1. Moses and the three sons went from Washington Co., VA, to Lincoln Co, Tenn. but he returned. As widow of Andrew, Joanna (Hay) Buchanan wed, as 2d w., his brother Moses Buchanan. The above Margaret (Buchanan) Thompson in 1860 (aged 81) listed all Buchanan's known to her but she had cousins in PA. that she did not know. Charles B Edmonson (1935 was of Fayetteville, Lincoln County, TN) had records. I consolidate data form the above 2 sources and cross checked recognized authorities to give the foregoing outline, a result of much travel & study over a number of years. VJSA (Miss.) It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Moses by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Moses:
