On Oct. 8, 1912, he was married to Maria Carper, who preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 1970. Surviving are one daughter (Myrtle), 3 sons (Lloyd, Roy, and Paul), 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one sister (Jennie E. Snyder). He was a member of Lititz Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Jan. 20, in charge of Melvin H. Lauver and Parke M. Heller; interment in Hammer Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Lititz
