Biography

Born as Johannes Heinrich Buchner to Johan Martin Buchner and Elsa Zehrung on December 10, 1734 in Unnau, Westerwald, Rheinland-Pfalz, Prussia (now Unnau, Westerwald, Rheinland-Pfaltz, Germany). [1]

With his parents and siblings, Heinrich immigrated to the United States of America through the Port of Philadelphia on September 29, 1753 on board the Snow Rowand out of Rotterdam under Captain Arthur Tran. [2]. The family eventually settled in Sussex County, Province of New Jersey.

In 1769, Henry was married to Anna Eva Dell in Elizabethtown, Union, Province of New Jersey.

During the American Revolutionary War, Henry Buchner, Sr. aided, harboured and assisted Loyalists in Sussex, New Jersey. [3]
