Walter Buck was born to Jonathan and Irena Buck in 1776 in Connecticut. His family moved to Monkton, Addison Co, Vermont; Elizabethtown, Essex Co, New York; Chautauqua Co, New York; Lorain Co, Ohio, and St. Joseph Co, Indiana where he died about 1858. He m1. Mary unknown b. between 1775 and 1784 and m2. Chloe Flora unknown b. about 1784/85. Chloe is listed on an 1810 land deed and on the 1860 census with son Henry Horace Buck after Walter died. In the History of St. Joseph County, Indiana it mentions the Buck Settlement in Madison Township (Woodland) and the Buck brothers (Jonathan, Truman, Edward, and Henry).
