Biography
Experience was born in Connecticut in 1764. She would marry William Sprague in about 1785 when she was around 21 years of age. Experience and William would live in Massachusetts for a period of time before relocating to Ohio. They would have one son and five daughters as follows:
William Sprague (1786–1803)
Sophia Sprague (1788–1810)
Sarah (Sprague) Thomas (1790-after 1820)
Susannah (Sprague) Sprague (1793–1857)
Ruby Sprague Devol (1795–1864)
Lucena (Sprague) Roach (1797–1871)
William passed away on September 1, 1826, and a few months later, Experience married her second husband, Nathaniel Dodge, on April 29, 1827, in Washington County, Ohio. There were no children by this marriage.
Experience passed away in 1842 at 78 years of age. Her body lies in the Devol Cemetery in Coal Run, Washington County, Ohio.
