Biography

William Henry was the son of Emma Buckingham and William Mitchell. At the time of his birth his father was not recorded and his birth name is Buckingham; however he used the name Mitchell for most of his life.

He lived to about 94 years, according to family:

Great Uncle Bill I remember well as he always stayed with us when he came down [to Invercargill], he would fly down. One time Dad picked up his bag at the airport and asked why it was so heavy; he had bought his dumbbells with him. He lived to be 94 and only reason he died was that his dog died then two weeks later he died.
