Joseph was born about 1814. He was the son of Allen Buckland and Elizabeth Stanley. He passed away about 1883.
(Livonia, NY, Gazette, October 12, 1883) Joseph P. Buckland, an old resident of Perry, and a man highly esteemed for his upright character and general personal worth, died on Saturday after a long illness. He was for many years a justice of the peace of the town and was also prominently identified with the Congregational church at Perry Center. The funeral was attended on Sunday by his relatives from here. He was a brother-in-law of Clark and S.E. Sherwood and Mrs. B.L. Stedman. he was the first male child born in the town of Perry.
