Biography

Wilton was born in 1846in Reigate, Surrey..^[1] He is the son of Thomas Buckland and Elizabeth Carter. In 1851, he lived in Reigate with his parents, two younger brothers, and a servant girl.^[2] In 1861, at the age of 15, Wilton was working as a clerk in while living in Reigate with his parents and six younger siblings.^[3]

In 1871, Wilton had established his own household in Reigate with his grandmother Sarah, and four of his six siblings. He was employed as a clerk to the land agent and tax collector.^[4]Ancestry Sharing LinkAncestry Record 7619 #456782

Wilton married Julia Head in Reigate in September 1872.^[5] By 1881, he had become assistant secretary of building, and secretary of rents, and collection of poor rates and taxes. He was living with his wife Julia, their three children, and a servant girl.^[6] Ancestry Sharing Link

Wilton died in Reigate, Surrey in 1886.^[7]He left a sizeable estate of £1,195 8s. 10d.^[8]
