Biography
I'm going to be brave and state that Mahala's maiden name was Buckner and not Allen. There is some indication that she had a previous marriage. Henry's first wife was Sarah Buckner, but I don't think Mahala and Sarah were sisters. Most sources say her maiden name was Allen.

Mahala uses the surname Buckner as her maiden name in the marriage record of her daughter, Sarah Lucy Workman. [2]
