Biography

Andrew was born in 1798. He was the son of William Buell and Martha Naughton.

Buell became one of the well-known barristers of Ontario. In 1849 he moved to Toronto, and received the appointment of master in chancery, a position he ably filled for twenty years.

His wife, who was born in 1809. died in Toronto in 1853. Andrew and Calcina's children included:

• Mrs. Hare;
• Mrs. Alexander Cameron; and
• Sarah Buell, m. Walter Miller Ross.

Andrew and Calcina Buell were members of the Church of England. He was a Reformer, and a decided anti-Family Compact advocate.

He passed away in 1880.
