Research Notes for future editing. ==The James Yeager Book is OK on most of the Yeagers and includes some helpful data on related families, but lacks significant Source Linkage Discussions and Documentation. Well intended as it is, It has many errors in it related to the Yeager's, Buffington's and the Meyers Family. We need to re-examine most everything in it and many researchers have started doing so, especially regarding Christopher Yeager whom died in 1811 in Upper Paxton Twp. We have to duplicate much of that research over the next few years. Yeager is not the originator of many of his errors which went back a few decades earlier. Unfortunately his book was popular and not closely examined for source confirmation or errors. This book propagated many of the current family errors in a # of ancestry profiles online. It has Henry Meyers whom married Benjamin Buffington's Daughter, as born in 1745 in Bubendorf, Canton Basel-land, the son of Henry LaMaire. He posted no true sources for it, nor did he investigate it thoroughly although he was moreso focused on the Yeagers. It was the style of genealogy popular at that time. He was also focused on Huguenot Refugees in Upper Paxton, which was the rage at that time. There is no evidence for this. Myers Descendant Henry Wharton Shoemaker, a prominent diplomat, whom was a leader of Archiving Pennsylvania State Historical and Folklore Documents is the Source of much of this cultural phenomenon and spoke and published many pieces on it. He had been in France for quite a period of time. Many researchers believe he is the source of the 1745 Birthdate for Henry Mayers which does not match his Killinger Corners, Dauphin Co Source Records. No Father is named in any original source document. The 1745 born Henry Meyers never came to America. He lived his entire life in Bubendorf, marrying, raising his family there, dieing there and Is Buried There. That data from Family Search Records will be added to Henry Mayers profile. His most likely Father is John Myers whom settled Circa 1767 at Killinger Corners when Henry was a teenager before he first married Miss Buffington. This info on cousin Henry W Shoemaker will be added to his profile biography. He did do a lot of amazing things with Old Pennsylvania History, becoming the Leader of the efforts to preserve it. DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ben by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ben:

I corrected the mother for Benjamin. His grandmother was listed as his mother. He appeared on an error report with his father also listed as a sibling. Perhaps this will make better sense now.
