Naomi and George married prior to Naomi emigrating on the "Emperor", arriving in Sydney on June 6th 1851. George followed her later that year and her family arrived on the "Hooghley", from Plymouth on August 19th, arriving in Hobson's Bay on November 27th 1851, their passage being paid for ny Charles Barrett. Paul, Mary, Charles and Paul junior were employed by Barrett to work on his market garden on the Merri Creek, Coburg. George and Naomi joined them in 1852. They continued farming in the Coburg area until Charles and his parents moved to Mt Prospect, where George and Naomi joined them before moving to Leonard's Hill.[1]
