James Sullivan Bullock was an early pioneer to LaSalle County, Illinois, coming out from Rehoboth, Massachusetts during the land rush following the Black Hawk War[1], and settling in Vermilionville (later Deer Park) for a long and useful career as a physician.[2]
He was born on October 1, 1806[3] in Rehoboth, Massachusetts,.[4] to Oliver Maxcy Bullock and Susannah Tisdale.
